The system is called an LTR Radio System. The
basic system is a push-to-talk radio system. That is, the radio
normally receives, and by pushing the push-to-talk button the holder
is able to talk to the other radios in his group (company). This
system is different from the older radio systems in that you have
a private talkgroup for your company, not shared with others. The
handheld radios we use cover such a large area by utilizing repeaters
mounted high up the side of a mountain overlooking Colorado Springs.
